Jun Cen

Jun Cen is an award-wining illustrator and animator who has worked with clients such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, etc.

“The reason I like editorial illustration is that we don’t need to literally translate what the writer says in the story into visual language, at least not in every project,” says Jun. “Sometimes we just need to create a tone and feel that fits the story. I see every commission as a possibility to create something that resonates with me personally and a good story inspires this.” (It’s Nice That, 2019)

The theme of loneliness in the modern era often appears in Jun Cen’s work. He mentioned in an interview with It’s Nice That how sometimes, when he feels frustrated or lonely, he can feel more like an individual than any other time, so focuses on these moments in his recent work.
